Manga: The Gateway Drug

Artists, for me, come in 3 basic categories: Those who are awful, those who have talent, and those who cause your brain to spontaneously combust from their awesomeness.

My sister is an artist of the third variety.

To "thank me" for sending her a copy of Mecha Manga Bible Heroes, I got this image. Some thanks- my eyeballs dropped out of my head, sprouted legs and ran around the floor, chasing their dangling optic nerves like a puppy chasing it's tail...

well, not really... but you get the idea.

Why don't you boogie on over to The Project- my little sis's mega cool website, where they feed you Manga like it's crack. Trust me- you'll love it.

Dial "M" For (Victor) Mature

I get asked all the time if Daniel and I exclusively work together. While it may seem that way, we both end up doing some stuff with other people from time to time. Daniel's latest "solo" appearance is a comic called Gustav Hayes: Lounge Singer of the Apocalypse. The book is available from Zeros 2 Heroes, and it's rather spiffy. If you are 18 or over, feel free to check it out... It's got melting zombies and all sorts of odd happenings. I like it alot, actually.

Scheduled To Appear

It has been almost forever since I went to a music festival. Heck- It's been way too long since I attended a concert of any kind, but that's not important right now...

On Saturday, Augus 30th, I will be joining the creative crew from Mecha Manga Bible Heroes at the Revelation Generation festival in Frenchtown, NJ. We will be there with copies of the book, and eager to meet all of you who can make the trek out there. For tickets, you can go to iTickets.com or just show up at the gate. Hope to see you there!

Act Now!

If you have been reading my blog for any length of thime, you know that I have been working on a series called Mecha Manga Bible Heroes for quite a while now. Today I am very happy to say that the book is out & available for purchase!

Right now, there are 3 ways to get a copy of the book:

If you have a local Christian bookstore, you can get a copy there. If they haven't gotten the book yet, ask them to order you a copy from Anchor Distributors. They can call Anchor at 1 (800) 444-4484 and the information to order is on the anchor website here.

If you rather go to a local comic shop, bug them to get you a copy through Haven Distributors by calling 1 (877)428-3650 or their partner Enmi Entertainment.

To order direct from the internet, you can go to Deeper Shopping. Click here for their order page. You can also get a copy from the ChristianComics.Net online store by going here.

We expect the book to be available in other ways down the road & of course I'll let you know how that all goes when it happens...

In the mean time- go do some shopping!

Radio Somewhere

I have always had a thing for radio; I don't know exactly why or how it started, but there has always been part of me that loved the medium. When I was a kid, the only radio we were allowed to listen to was a local station- the kind of radio station that was a throwback even in those days, where most of the music was wildly out of date, and they played both sides of a single because they just didn't have anything to fill airtime...

When I was in college, I was a DJ on the radio station there- I wound up doing a little over 200 broadcasts there, and had alot of fun in the process... as well as building up a pretty nice collection of music...

Why am I bringing this up?

Tomorrow, Paul Castiglia will be on Crusader Radio talking about Mecha Manga Bible Heroes at Noon Eastern time on The Wiley Drake Show. Go to the site here, click on the "on air" link & check it out...

Mecha Manga Bible Buzz

With Mecha Manga Bible Heroes Issue #1 almost out in stores, the real reviews are starting to come in. So far, they are pretty favorable.

Sight Magazine said the following:

"The beauty of MMBH is that it has the potential to allow children tired of the same old Sunday school approach to fall in love with these tales, perhaps for the first time, and I can assure a lot of adults out there that there’s something in here for you too."

More to come... Hopefully, you'll like it as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
